With his debut crop only just on the verge of completing its 3YO season, the sire career of MASTER OF DESIGN is still very much in its infancy. Yet, despite only a small sample size, he is definitely shaping as a stallion of undoubted potential.
The racetrack career of the imposing MASTER OF DESIGN began with a 4 length romp at only his second career start. Two further wins in quick succession earned him a spell, before he began where he left off and was catapulted into G2 class, triumphing in the prestigious THEO MARKS STAKES. In doing so, he followed in the footsteps of Shogun Lodge, Falkirk, Racing To Win and More Joyous. The 2015 running of the G2 Theo Marks was taken out by the Hall of Fame Mare WINX. Elevated further in class, MASTER OF DESIGN then ran a close third in the Gr1 Sir Rupert Clark Stakes over 1400m. His final career start was his pinnacle performance, and stamped him as a sire of the future, when he defied all challengers to take the G1 TJ SMITH STAKES, Sydney’s premier WFA sprint. The mighty BLACK CAVIAR won this race either side of MASTER OF DESIGN, while the last three running have seen the World’s Best Sprinter CHAUTAUQUA sail home to some remarkable victories.
MASTER OF DESIGN is a son of 9 TIMES CHAMPION AUSTRALIAN SIRE REDOUTE’S CHOICE, sire of a remarkable 1622 winners from 2082 runners and 147 stakes winners. His dossier includes 9 Champions, 8 G1 2YO winners, 74 individual million dollar plus yearlings and in excess of $135 million in progeny earnings. Clearly a member of the global sire elite, in terms of his resume, Redoute’s Choice is also proving a remarkable SIRE OF SIRES with a lofty 19 of his sire-sons having produced a stakeswinner and three of his sons in the top echelon of Australasia’s stallion ranks. These include 2014 Champion Sire SNITZEL (63 SW and 11 G1 winners), 2014’s Leading Australian Sire of 2YO Winners, NOT A SINGLE DOUBT (43 SW and G1 winners such as Blue Diamond Winner EXTREME CHOICE) and Champion Australian First & Second Crop Sire STRATUM (34 SW and 5 G1 winners).
From only 2 crops to race, MASTER OF DESIGN already has a commendable 24 WINNERS and is verging on $1 million in progeny earnings. He also boasts 4 stakes performers. Top of these is highly talented Listed placed CREATIVITY. His CV also includes Listed 3rd CREATIVE GENIUS and precocious juvenile stakes placegetters MISS WAHOO and KINETIC DESIGN.
This well-proportioned filly is the first foal of Sidereal Messenger, who is by breed-shaping sire GALILEO. His statistics as a broodmare sire are just as mind boggling as that of his sire stats. A massive 709 INDIVIDUAL WINNERS, 74 INDIVIDUAL STAKESWINNERS, 44 INDIVIDUAL GROUP WINNERS and OVER $66.5 MILLION IN BROODMARE SIRE PROGENY EARNINGS. Most notable are International Champions LA CRESSONNIERE, GALILEO GOLD and NIGHT OF THUNDER, as well as AUSTRALALASIAN G1 WINNERS HALL OF FAME and MAGICOOL.
A winner at 1200m, SIDEREAL MESSENGER is also a HALF-SISTER TO FLEMINGTON GR3 WINNER POOR JUDGE, as well as 3 other winners in Secret Diva, Guessing Game and Secret Display. In fact, the second dam has produced 8 TO RACE FOR 7 WINNERS. The family also includes stakes placed third dam Madayao, herself dam of two stakes performers in PROUD PLAYER and DRUMMING. It’s a family that, importantly, has also produced high class juvenile speed with ROYAL COURTSHIP winning both the G2 TODMAN SLIPPER TRIAL and G3 KINDERGARTEN STAKES.
An intelligent looking filly, one of the most interesting points about her is that arguably the best horse produced by her grandsire, Redoute’s Choice, is the mighty 5-TIME G1 WINNING filly MISS FINLAND. Interesting why? Because Miss Finland’s second dam is by SADLER’S WELLS, sire of this filly’s broodmare sire GALILEO.
Don’t miss your opportunity to share in this beautifully bred filly.
