Smart Dart takes aim at Apache Cat Classic

Oct 15, 2017

TAB Cranbourne Cup Day is here and the weather is looking to be a lot more favourable for race goers this time around. We don't have a runner in the main event but we will be watching closely and cheering on the local horse Spanish Reef, hoping the Cup can stay at Cranbourne. So many of the big trainers looking for a raid shows how highly regarded the TAB Cranbourne Cup is. Charlie Appleby runs the Godolphin owned Folkswood who has come all the way from Newmarket in England.

SMART DART is the sole Alderson Racing representative on the card when he runs in Race 7 - the Procon Developments Apache Cat Classic. Named in honour of the living legend Apache Cat, the race is over 1000m and might just be on the shorter side of Smart Dart's ideal trip. He has been working well at home and will be ridden by Ben Thompson who knows the horse well having ridden him in numerous previous starts including into the winners stall on three seperate occassions.

Here's hoping the sun keeps shining and everyone has a great day at the 2017 TAB Cranbourne Cup!
