Busy Weekend as we chase some Vobis Gold!

Dec 16, 2017

No rest for the wicked with another busy weekend of racing ahead for the team. First off we head into Caulfield where we have 2 runners before kicking on to the Christmas night racing at Cranbourne later on this evening.

Race 1 at Caulfield today see's Sizzleme make her racing debut in the 2YO Evergreen Turf Plate over 1100m. This filly has been very straightforward in her training so far. She is a quick learner so has been easy to educate. We have certainly thrown her in at the deep end, running her in the City for her first race but we are confident she will be up for the task at hand. Being her first preparation, Sizzleme will gain plenty of benefit from the education and experience of a racecourse outing. Ben Allen takes the ride today.

Our next Caulfield runner is Fudged who runs in Race 4 The Sheamus Mills Bloodstock Handicap over 1700m. This distance is a steps up to1700 for the first time and it will be interesting to see how strong she is at the end of her race. She has been working well at home and should get a nice run from her draw in barrier 4.  Vinland looks like the one to beat her today but I see her being a strong top 4 chance today. Fresh off a great night at Moonee Valley last night, Stephanie Thornton takes the ride on  Fudged again today.

Then its back home and over the road to the Cranbourne Christmas Night Races where Charlie Cheval runs in Race 4 the R &C Asphalt Class 1 Handicap over 1600m. We all know by now that Charlie seems to just play by his own rules. Its a slight step up in distance tonight on his home track. Matthew Allen keeps the ride so knows the horse well from their previous raceday partnerships. We have some of our wonderful owners joining us tonight to sample the wonderful Cranbourne hospitality and to get the Christmas Party spirit going so it would be nice if he decided to fulfill the potential we all know he has and oblige with a win for the team tonight!
